Fire Safety!
This week is Fire Prevention Week! This week we are going to learn all about why we need fire fighters, exactly what they do, how to prevent them, and what we do if there is one. On Wednesday this week we will put our knowledge into practice when we have a school wide fire drill with the Oak Forest Fire Department. Also on Wednesday the OF Fire Department will put on an assembly for us!
We will be reading from our Weekly Reader and our Let's Find Out reading materials to learn new vocabulary words and more fire safety. Then to really explore and apply what we learned, we will be taking a field trip to the Oak Forest Fire Department to get a tour of the station on October 20th.
